LOADING & UNLOADING TRUCKS
Liquid asphalt or any other liquid raw materials are shipped to the plant via trucks and ships/barges. Ships/barges are unloaded at Berths 5 and 8 at the Port Everglades dock and the asphalt is pumped directly through an underground pipeline into the above ground storage tanks at the terminal.
BERTHS AND 8
Trucks are unloaded via hoses connected to metal piping that pumps directly into the storage tanks. Two truck loading racks are used for the loading of different types of asphalts into tank trucks for bulk sales. MT personnel off-load/load all trucks coming into the plant, to insure that safety, quality and customer service is guaranteed.
The largest vessel that can safely be accommodated in Berth 5 and Berth 8 is 750 feet long and 105 feet wide. The deepest draft at MLW is: 40’ at Berth 5 and 37’ at Berth 8.
